The Hand Support (for stroke victims)

THE PROBLEM:  The paralyzed arm of a stroke victim hangs down, putting a strain on the affected shoulder. As some use of the arm is hopefully regained the therapists want not only support but some bio feedback as the patient pushes against some flexible support device.

THE SOLUTION:  This plastic cone is roughly the shape of the inside of a relaxed hand and is slung on an elastic band attached to an adjustable velcro belt. The hand splint is held to the arm with a velcro band and shaped so as to grip the cone, as shown
